Job summary

Matchtech seeks an Indirect Procurement Coordinator on a 6-month fixed-term contract to support strategic supplier relationships and contract administration for decarbonisation initiatives.

You will manage end-to-end procurement activities, supplier prequalification, and cost optimisation while collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring policy compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Experience with indirect procurement and supplier management.
  • Familiarity with contract law and negotiation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in end-to-end procurement processes from supplier identification to award.
  • Coordinate NDA/s and terms with suppliers and support prequalification.
  • Prepare supplier performance data and work with QA for improvement plans.
  • Develop supplier relationships to drive cost optimisation and supply continuity.
  • Support contract award recommendations and supplier onboarding efficiently.
  • Assist in contract administration, notices, and invoice resolution.
  • Provide management reporting on programme performance and risks.

Job description

Our client, leading a significant initiative to decarbonise iron ore operations and harness renewable energy technologies, is seeking an Indirect Procurement Coordinator on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This opportunity allows you to be part of groundbreaking projects that contribute to sustainable and revolutionary advancements globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in all end-to-end procurement processes - from identifying potential Suppliers, tendering, bid evaluation, negotiation, to contract award.
  • Support activities in supplier identification, prequalification, and shortlisting.
  • Coordinate the implementation of NDA's and T's and C's with suppliers.
  • Prepare supplier performance data and work with the supplier quality assurance team on development plans.
  • Foster strategic supplier relationships for continuous supply, innovation, and cost optimisation.
  • Develop supplier performance measures with relevant teams.
  • Identify and evaluate contract formation risks and seek input from other functions as needed.
  • Support the preparation of Contract Award Recommendations and on-board suppliers efficiently.
  • Assist in contract administration including correspondence, notices, claims assessment, and invoice resolution.
Cost Initiatives
  • Identify and promote cost reduction efforts to meet financial goals and report against targets monthly.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Relationships
  • Build and develop interdepartmental relationships to drive overall business improvement.
  • Facilitate communication between different departments to ensure alignment.
  • Flag emerging risks and issues to relevant stakeholders promptly.
Management Reporting
  • Provide management reporting on programme performance to ensure proactive procurement activities.
  • Flag emerging risks and issues to management promptly.
Systems & Processes

Maintain and update procurement records and generate reports to ensure organisational compliance and provide access to C&P information.

Job Requirements
  • Team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn and adopt new ways of working.
  • Basic knowledge of contract law, procurement principles, and negotiation techniques.
  • Technical and/or commercial education to a degree level; membership of CIPS is advantageous.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and drive multiple packages to successful outcomes.
  • Flexible, problem-solving mindset, with a willingness to challenge traditional thinking and operate outside of comfort zones.
  • Strong data-driven and visual reporting skills to communicate quantified status and risks.
  • High level experience and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent prioritising, organisational, interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
