Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Procurement and Contracts Manager to join our team, specifically focusing on Building Maintenance & Services. In this role, you will lead the management of our supplier relationships, ensuring that our service delivery and commercial objectives are met and exceeded. You’ll be at the forefront of driving strategic sourcing, contract management, and commercial activities to guarantee that McCarthy Stone’s customers receive top-tier service and value for money.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Performance Management: Implement, monitor, and manage supplier KPIs to ensure an effective supply chain, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Contract & Price Management: Handle day-to-day management of key suppliers, including invoice validation, price increase management, and conducting regular supplier reviews.
  • Tender & Contract Management: Plan and manage supplier tenders/RFPs, ensuring that contracts are market-tested, competitive, and aligned with our operational needs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts meet financial, operational, and customer objectives, while driving continuous improvements.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement process improvements with operational colleagues, particularly for smaller/local suppliers, to enhance efficiency and reduce administrative burdens.
  • Contract Transition & Termination: Manage the transition and mobilisation of new suppliers, ensuring a seamless experience for McCarthy Stone and our customers.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you should have substantial experience in supplier and procurement management, ideally within a construction or services business. You should possess strong commercial acumen and be adept at managing complex tenders from start to finish.

  • Strong ability to manage competing priorities and deliver on deadlines.
  • Capable of driving high performance within a small team setting and leading people well.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (or equivalent tools).
  • Critical thinking with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to constructively challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels.
