Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.

The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, either 8am to 4pm or 9am to 5pm.

The Procurement Department offers comprehensive procurement and logistics services across all functions, including strategic sourcing and advice to enhance effectiveness and value for money on all expenditure for goods, services, and works.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Procurement, the Commercial Team Manager (Non-Medical) oversees the non-medical contracting and tendering workplan, including implementing national contracts. This role involves leading and motivating a team of approximately 10 staff, including Band 7 Commodity Team Managers, Band 6 Senior Buyers, and Band 5 Senior Commodity Officers, covering Estates, Facilities, and Corporate commodity teams.

This is a significant position within the Procurement Department and the wider Health Board, offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, organized, and commercially oriented candidate.
