They are seeking an experienced Fleet Category Specialist to oversee the category across the UK, with potential expansion into Europe.

Applicants must have specialist Fleet category experience, managing various vehicles weighing from 1.5 to 4 tonnes, with specifications varying depending on the business arm.

The group is undergoing an exciting transformation, expanding its procurement function and offering ongoing opportunities for career progression.

Role and responsibilities:

• Report to the Head of Global Procurement within a sizable team of colleagues at various levels.
• Develop, design, and improve category strategies continually.
• Manage end-to-end sourcing within designated spend areas using strategic approaches.
• Collaborate with senior business leaders to develop category strategies and plans.
• Provide ongoing advice to stakeholders on market trends, innovations, and supplier market knowledge.
• Manage complex projects, both regulated and unregulated.
• Ensure strategic procurement delivers the best commercial value for the business.

Experience required:

• Extensive Fleet category expertise, demonstrating subject matter knowledge.
• Proven strategic category management experience in a large, complex organization.
• Experience working in a global, matrix organization.
• Track record of delivering savings in a similar-sized business.
• Ability to engage, negotiate, and influence senior stakeholders up to Board level.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, adaptable to different relationship types and maturities.
• Experience working in a large, cross-functional procurement team.
• MCIPS qualification is desirable but not essential.
