A leading council in London is seeking a qualified Category Specialist for a 24-month fixed-term role within their Finance & Corporate Services department. This role focuses on delivering effective procurement activities to support housing projects and improve community service value. Join us to make a significant impact while developing your career in a dynamic environment.
Job Description
Contract duration: 24 months
Salary range: £49,638 - £60,795 per annum
About the role:
Within the Finance & Corporate Services department, our ambition is to be 'ruthlessly financially efficient' in everything we do, ensuring our services receive the best value for money while challenging old-fashioned thinking, unfairness, and removing waste where possible.
If you are a qualified local government works procurement professional and a ‘doer’, then this role is for you. In this 2-year, fixed-term, Category Specialist position, you will provide advice and hands-on delivery of procurement activities to support H&F’s efforts to build more affordable, accessible, safe, and sustainable housing.
H&F has a range of development projects to deliver 1,800 new homes, as well as new schools, community halls, and play areas. All schemes are co-produced, sustainable, and self-financing, delivered directly and through innovative partnerships with housing associations, using our assets to build shared prosperity.
You will be confident in advising on routes to market, market engagement, developing tender documentation, training staff for tender evaluation, leading moderation, and using our e-tendering portal. You will understand how to apply the new public contract regulations and council contract standing orders.
Our mission is to be the best council. To achieve this, we need the best people. If you’re looking to develop your career in a fast-paced, professional environment while making a difference, we look forward to hearing from you.
