Job summary

Wheatley Group seeks a Procurement Category Specialist (Consultancy and Fleet) to lead end-to-end procurement for technical consultancy and fleet, aligning with capital and investment programmes. The role requires developing Group frameworks and maximising value through strategic sourcing and public sector compliance.

You will join a large, diverse team and work across Scotland with hybrid/home-based arrangements and site travel.

Qualifications

  • Must have completed or is working towards MCIPS qualification.
  • Experience with end-to-end procurement, especially consultancy and fleet.
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations.
  • Education to degree level is desirable.

Job description

Job title: Procurement Category Specialist (Consultancy and Fleet)

Duration: Permanent Role

Work Pattern: 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

Location: Agile home-based worker with travel to corporate offices and central belt building sites – up to two, three times per week.

Salary: SCP 39-42 (£52,176-£56,270) per annum

About the role

Wheatley Group has a strong Procurement Team which supports a wide range of procurement requirements across the Group, to deliver high-quality services and value-for-money to our customers.

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Category Specialist. To develop, agree and implement specific procurement strategies, using strategic sourcing techniques, best practice and sound contractual and commercial skills to support our growing new build and investment programmes. Specifically, we are looking for a procurement professional who can develop and process the Group’s requirements for technical consultancy services, ensuring highest standards of quality and value are delivered.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experience procurement professional who can develop effective processes and procedures for managing the creation of Group frameworks, ability to maximise commercial competitions in accordance with public sector legislative procurement regulations.

We expect the successful candidate to manage the end-to-end procurement process for the category of consultancy and fleet, supporting the Group's delivery of capital and investment works.

You should have a strong background in procurement with knowledge and understanding of technical services contracts the future work plan includes procurement of a Group-wide technical consultancy framework, alongside the replacement of the fleet contract for Group.

It is essential that you have completed or is working towards a MCIPS qualification and it is desirable that you are educated to a degree level.
