A well-respected higher education institution in London is seeking a Procurement Category Manager for a 12 month FTC, with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent. The successful candidate will lead category strategies and stakeholder relationships to promote efficiency and high standards in procurement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Corporate or Professional Services spend including Marketing.
  • Experience using Procurement Act 23 / PCR 2015.

Procurement Category Manager - Indirects (12 month FTC, likely to perm) | £50,000 to £55,000 | 30 days holiday + 12 Bank Holidays/Christmas | Great pension | Based in London - 2 days a week | Well respected higher education organisation

This is a really exciting opportunity to join one of London's most respected Universities as a Category Manager - Indirects on a 12 month FTC, with a very likely chance this will turn into a permanent post

You'll report into the Head of Procurement who is building out the function to add headcount and turn the function into a more strategic, forward thinking procurement offering.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Create relevant category strategies through to the delivery and performance including year on year annualised savings
  • Develop category plans and strategies to ensure alignment for the group, leveraging suppliers to support local offices
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure a rounded knowledge of a suppliers performance
  • Monitor supplier risk and performance through reporting tools and business feedback
  • Be a Procurement role model by living company values, consistently delivering to the high standards expected, promoting procurement through relationships
  • On top over delivering strategic projects, ensure the business is getting the best service in line with cost efficiency

Experience and requirements:

  • Proven experience in Corporate or Professional Services spend, including Marketing
  • Current or previous usage and experience of Procurement Act 23 / PCR 2015
  • Strong stakeholder management, using different approaches to type, level and maturity of relationship
  • Analytical mindset and have strong communication skills to present ideas to the business
  • Worked in a large and cross-functional procurement team
  • MCIPS qualification nice to have, but not essential
