Do you have recent procurement experience supporting a broader range of indirect categories? We’re seeking a Category Manager to join our Procurement team on a 9-12 month fixed term contract. You’ll be responsible for managing and implementing the UK and Ireland (UK&I) Procurement strategy within the defined scope, using Category Management Processes and in accordance with the appropriate RACI matrix.

You’ll aim to increase efficiency, ensure compliance with FCA/PRA requirements, reduce costs, and adhere to best practices. This role offers a great opportunity to contribute to and develop our business functions, ensuring supplier relationships comply with FCA/PRA regulations and business risks are mitigated.

At AXA, we promote a flexible working environment, empowering our staff to balance home and office work. You’ll work at least 40% remotely, with the majority of your work from September 2025 being remote. 'Away from home' includes attending office locations, visiting clients, or industry events.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather, assess, and challenge business requirements, aiming to maintain relationships and achieve optimal commercial outcomes.
  • Lead the delivery of processes and initiatives to establish best-in-class policies, processes, or services.
  • Develop the Category Strategy independently when not supported by a Global Category Manager and deliver this strategy.
  • Manage the UK&I Procurement process, policies, and procedures (e.g., RFP, RFI) in line with local and Group standards.
  • Negotiate and execute contracts for UK Categories, ensuring compliance with service, performance, quality, and delivery standards, while proactively managing associated risks.
  • Understand the budget approach in collaboration with Finance and business budget owners to ensure proper budget utilization, optimization, and compliance.
  • Utilize procurement tools and best practices to enhance efficiency, delivery quality, and achieve savings and KPI targets.
What you’ll bring:
  • Recent procurement experience supporting a broad range of indirect categories.
  • A team-oriented mindset focused on the success and respect of the procurement team across functions.
As a precondition for employment, you must be eligible and authorized to work in the UK. Internal candidates are encouraged to apply via internal channels for secondment opportunities.

At AXA UK, we value our employees and regularly review our rewards package, which includes:

  • Competitive salary up to £85,000 depending on experience
  • Discretionary performance-based bonus
  • Private health insurance
  • Contributory pension scheme (up to 12% employer contribution)
  • Life Assurance (up to 10x annual salary)
  • 28 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
