Procurement Category Manager

Hybrid Working

We are recruiting for a Procurement Category Manager (Energy, Gas, Water Services, Chemicals, Co-Packing & Capex) to manage a complex spend area, develop robust category strategies, and actively partner with key stakeholders. This role can be based in Market Drayton, Telford, Droitwich, or Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and implement category strategies aligned with Business Units and Group Service functions.
• Ensure procurement policies, processes, and spend compliance rules are in place.
• Support new product launches and strategic projects.

Stakeholder Management

• Develop and present recommendations to business units.
• Provide data analysis and market insights to stakeholders for effective decision-making.

Supplier Management

• Implement supplier relationship strategies to meet KPIs and develop sustainable value.

Subject Matter Expertise

• Experience in Utilities procurement or similar data-driven categories. Knowledge of FMCG or operational procurement is advantageous.
• Strong project management skills and ability to drive actions and sourcing events.

Continuous Improvement

• Conduct reviews and develop action plans for efficiency improvements.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years as a category manager.
• Knowledge in Energy, Gas, Water, Chemicals, Co-Packing, Capex preferred.
• Strong communication, data analysis, presentation, and project management skills.
• Ability to lead project teams and implement strategies effectively.
