Procurement Category Manager

We are recruiting for a Procurement Category Manager (Energy, Gas, Water Services, Chemicals, Co-Packing & Contract Manufacturing) to manage high-complexity spend areas, develop category strategies, and partner with key stakeholders. This role can be based in Market Drayton, Telford, Droitwich, or Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and implement category strategies aligned with business units and group functions.
• Ensure procurement policies, processes, and compliance rules are followed.
• Support new product launches and strategic projects.

Stakeholder Management:

• Present recommendations and insights to stakeholders, including data analysis and market insights.
• Develop supplier relationships to meet KPIs and create value.
• Experience in Utilities procurement or similar data-driven categories is desirable.
• Ability to challenge specifications and operational methods to drive value.
• Capable project manager, able to lead sourcing events and drive actions.
• Conduct continuous improvement reviews with clear action plans.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years as a category manager.
• Experience in Energy, Gas, Water, Chemicals, Co-Packing, or Contract Manufacturing is desirable.
• Strong strategic and operational skills.
• Excellent communication and data analysis skills.
• Leadership in project teams; advanced project management skills are a plus.
