A growing broadband company is seeking a Category Manager to develop and implement procurement strategies, manage tenders, and negotiate contracts. The role requires previous procurement experience and offers a hybrid work model with competitive rewards including a generous pension and health benefits.
Are you currently studying for your CIPS and looking for a role where you can really apply your studies, take more ownership and really make a difference?
A company and team who will support your development, with one eye on the future and where you will develop and progress to?
Note: this is a hybrid role, with one day a week working in our Head Office in Abingdon, Oxon.
As Category Manager you will develop and implement the procurement strategies for our Direct and Indirect spend, owning and running multiple tenders from end to end.
You will work with the business to help support and take us from where we are now to a preferred, cost-effective and value add supplier list that is fit for purpose.
Our business has grown from 80 to 700 employees over the past 7 years, our fibre network footprint has expanded across England and we add 1000s of new customers to our network every month.
Our direct and indirect spend has grown too, as has our supplier list. As we mature a recent restructure has resulted in this new role being created to help rationalise and ensure a strategic supplier list moving forward.
The role will involve working with the business to understand procurement needs, market analysis, running tenders, negotiating contracts with vendors and managing supplier relationships.
We therefore require similar previous procurement experience where you have owned and managed tenders end to end and driven savings.
An understanding of materials and suppliers in the Telco / Fibre industry would be advantageous but this is a generalist role where a can do attitude trumps previous sector experience and knowledge.
