Procurement Category Manager

We are looking for a Category Manager Procurement who can join us.

This is a hybrid role with a requirement to be in the Bristol office as needed, with flexibility to work from home.

Key Purpose

1. Oversee the delivery of Ayvens’ UK procurement strategy for core categories by creating strong partnerships with business stakeholders and operational suppliers to deliver excellent outcomes such as consistent service, commercial synergies, responsible practices, and low business risk.
2. Develop a collaborative ‘centre of excellence’ where Procurement supports group goals and offers an attentive ‘shared service’ across the business.
3. Support the integration of Ayvens Procurement (UK) by embedding robust policies, processes, and best practices.

Summary of Responsibilities

1. Own the sourcing strategy for assigned core procurement categories, ensuring supply is consistent and delivers value. Document and align strategies with stakeholders to meet business and customer needs.
2. Collaborate with the Group to ensure categories are supported by robust planning and forecasting to maximize synergies, rebates, and bonuses.
3. Manage contracts diligently throughout their lifecycle, with support for wider contracting or commercial reviews.
4. Maintain awareness of industry trends and share insights across the organization, building sector knowledge to underpin expertise.
5. Develop a shared service model with the procurement team to provide attentive UK procurement services, leveraging local policies and the skills within Societe Generale and the group.
6. Support management in specific projects or integration initiatives.
7. Ensure compliance with risk and governance principles, using MI and insights for effective supervision.

Skills, Experience & Background

• Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills
• Procurement or supply chain management experience with negotiation and influence skills
• Strategic thinking with the ability to create and execute business plans
• Financial and commercial acumen
• Experience in change management and continuous improvement
• Proficient in data analysis and reporting, using information to inform decisions
• Self-starter with excellent planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
• Team player and autonomous worker
• Experience in procurement, supply chain, or operational management (degree or qualifications desirable)
• Understanding of automotive or leasing sectors and operational supply chains
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
