Opportunity to join a fast-paced, procurement organisation renowned for their innovative procurement solutions.

This is a leading procurement business providing innovative procurement services within the foodservice and hospitality sectors. This role reports to the Head of Retail. As a Category Development Manager, you will manage a large spend area across Bakery and Savoury Categories and set the strategy for your category on behalf of a key client, seeking opportunities to increase and improve your area.

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop relationships with key suppliers to promote efficient, strategic, and innovative ways of working
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure continuity of goods and services meeting quality, service, and price requirements
  • Stay aware of market trends to identify opportunities for developing ranges and exciting customers
  • Engage in retention activities related to categories, suppliers, and products within assigned portfolios
Requirements:
  • Strong Category procurement experience, preferably within ambient/grocery food categories
  • Experience managing complex supplier, distributor, and client relationships
  • Decision-maker with good commercial acumen, comfortable working under pressure
  • Solid analytical skills to interpret data and make effective decisions
  • Collaborative team player capable of bringing people together to deliver results
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to influence across an organization
  • Positive attitude with a proactive approach to resolving issues and driving continuous improvement

The role offers a couple of days a week working from home. Candidates should live within a reasonable commute of the office.
