Role Purpose:

Working with the Own Brand Procurement Buyer and the Commercial team as a Procurement Partner to support, monitor, and control new and existing projects and purchases of Own Brand products from suppliers.

Typical Responsibilities:

1. Ensuring the tender process is followed diligently and aligned with policy, from project conception to contracts and re-tendering.
2. Maintaining clear documentation and evidence for each step in the supplier contracting process.
3. Recording and sharing information to ensure an accurate UK contract database, including upcoming expiry dates, break options, and potential savings.
4. Supporting the Own Brand Commercial team in setting up tenders, quotation processes, and supplier management.
5. Managing tenders from initial requirement, market analysis, to post-analysis, working with subject matter experts.
6. Adopting negotiation strategies to secure the best terms for the business.
7. Developing and maintaining effective internal and external relationships.
8. Supporting the Own Brand Procurement Buyer as needed.
9. Taking responsibility for personal and professional development.

Minimum Requirements:

• Generalist procurement experience.
• Experience with tenders and category management.
• CIPS qualification or equivalent, or experience as a Junior Buyer (advantageous).
• Strong negotiation skills to secure optimal outcomes.
• Confidence in decision-making impacting procurement.
