Job summary

ScaleX™ Talent Solutions is recruiting a Procurement Assistant for a growing engineering and manufacturing business in Chippenham. The role focuses on purchasing activities, supplier liaison and inventory support, with progression toward a Buyer role.

You’ll raise POs, chase deliveries, compare quotes and help keep production stocked. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years in purchasing, ERP/MRP familiarity and strong Excel skills, with a proactive, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Around 1–2 years’ experience within purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory or a similar administrative role.
• Manufacturing or engineering experience would be a bonus
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems
• Good Excel skills
• An understanding of lead times, stock and purchasing processes
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Confident communicating with suppliers
• Proactive, hands-on and happy working as part of a small team

Responsibilities

• Raising, issuing and tracking purchase orders
• Liaising with suppliers and chasing delivery dates
• Helping ensure materials arrive on time for production
• Requesting and comparing supplier quotations
• Maintaining supplier information, pricing and lead times
• Supporting stock and inventory management
• Resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, deliveries and invoices
• Working closely with production, engineering, stores and finance
• Supporting supplier performance and procurement reporting
