Job summary

Ground Control is seeking an Assistant Buyer in Billericay to support the Landscape Design & Energy division. You will secure materials, equipment and services, maintain supplier relations and ensure smooth purchasing workflows.

You’ll be organized, proactive and capable of taking ownership of workload while collaborating with contract managers and broader teams to keep projects moving forward.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, buying, supply chain, logistics, coordination or another busy environment would be useful.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders from start to finish, ensuring accurate raising, tracking and delivery.
• Source materials, equipment, plant, consumables and services from suitable suppliers.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers, checking availability, chasing deliveries and resolving issues.
• Work closely with contract managers and internal teams, updating pricing, availability and lead times.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotations to support informed purchasing decisions.
• Handle delivery, invoice and purchase order queries with suppliers and internal teams.
• Respond to changing and urgent requirements and adapt priorities as needed.
• Keep purchasing records accurate and up to date for the wider team.
