Job description

VolkerLaser repairs, strengthens and waterproofs concrete and steel structures, offering a tailored package of specialist works to clients across the UK. Our structural solutions include bridge deck waterproofing, expansion joints, concrete repair and cathodic protection works, steel repair and strengthening work, carbon fibre and temporary works, jacking and bearing replacement. We also provide specialist lightweight decking and access solutions, as well as being specialists in long bridge and cable refurbishment.

We are looking for a Procurement Assistant to work from our head office in Worcester for 6 months on a fixed-term contract.

You will be responsible for:

  • Prepare and issue small material orders
  • As and when necessary, obtain material quotations in accordance with the Site Team's/Contract requirements
  • Provide support into invoice dispute resolution
  • Process orders using term deals
  • Making card payments over the phone for small transactional requirements
  • Reconcile Purchase cards with coding and upload VAT invoices
  • Support Procurement with the governance process to maintain templates and liaise with relevant approvers to explain to package approvals required and obtain signatures
  • Support Head of Procurement with completion of Sub-Contract award processes
  • Provide a complete administration function as required
  • Produce reports as required

About you:

  • Experience of working in the construction industry preferable but not essential
  • Some procurement or buying experience preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of prioritising a varied workload
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Friendly and helpful attitude
  • Ability to ask for help
