Job description

Join Our Team as a Procurement Admin Officer.

Are you ready to play a key role in supporting frontline healthcare services? We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented team player to join our small but dynamic Procurement team at DHU Healthcare. In this essential role, you'll help source and purchase vital clinical and non-clinical goods and services, ensuring our teams have exactly what they need to deliver exceptional patient care.

Working closely with colleagues and suppliers, you'll manage procurement processes, maintain supplier databases, assist with contract reviews, and support the smooth running of our procurement operations. You'll also provide excellent internal customer service, helping to manage our shared inbox and support ticket system with efficiency and professionalism.

Competitive salary: £26,530 - £29,114

Generous annual leave entitlement: Standard 25 days + 8 bank holidays, increasing with service up to 33 days + 8 bank holidays. Pro Rata/ Per Annum

What Your Typical Day Looks Like
  • Manage shared inbox, create and escalate tickets, and support administrative tasks including vendor setup and general office duties.
  • Process requisitions and purchase orders accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with KPIs and approval protocols.
  • Conduct competitive quotation exercises and liaise with suppliers to expedite deliveries and resolve issues.
  • Respond promptly to user inquiries and provide updates on order progress in line with agreed service levels.
  • Maintain accurate records, support reporting and data analysis, and utilize IT systems effectively.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and adapt to changing organizational needs.
To be a successful Procurement Apprentice you will need:
  • Five GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at grade C/4 or higher required
  • Able to demonstrate a good level of IT literacy including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint packages.
  • Strong desire to work as part of a team and collaborative with others across the organization in a professional customer focused manner.
  • Proficient numeracy skills and attention to detail
  • Desire to have a future in any of these areas, Purchasing/Procurement/Supply Chain/Contract Management/Finance
