Ideal candidates will have strong negotiation skills, experience in contract management, and relevant professional qualifications. Join a team committed to trust and care, offering flexible working arrangements.
Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week)
The Procurement and Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and managing all procurement activities across Group Shared Services. This role is crucial to ensuring value for money in all contracts and procurement exercises.
You'll assess current procurement strategies, identify cost-saving opportunities, support purchasing, and implement initiatives to improve growth, value, and efficiency across the organisation. By ensuring the effective management of contracts and supplier relationships, you'll help drive operational success. Additionally, the role will oversee two direct reports, support JRHT (Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust) in procurement activities for care sites, and assist JRF (Joseph Rowntree Foundation) and the group centre with their procurement needs.
As our Procurement and Supply Chain Manager, we expect you to hold relevant professional qualifications in procurement (e.g., MCIPS or equivalent), have proven experience in procurement and contract management, ideally in a large, complex organisation, and a strong understanding of procurement best practices, strategies, and cost management techniques.
You should have knowledge of procurement legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements for public and charitable sectors. Experience in developing and negotiating supplier agreements, proficiency with procurement and contract management systems and tools, and experience coordinating multiple tenders across an organisation are essential. You should also demonstrate the ability to lead and manage a team, providing mentorship and direction, and support colleagues through the procurement process.
Excellent negotiation skills, the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships, stakeholder engagement, communication, and customer service skills are required. Experience in procurement strategies and significant cost reduction programmes, analytical thinking, and the ability to interpret multiple data sources to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities are also important.
If you share our passion and this role sounds like you, we look forward to hearing from you.
