Procurement and Stock Manager - Construction

My client is a leading Building, Construction & Maintenance company working throughout the South East of England. They have been running for over 15 years and have gradually enjoyed steady growth. Their clients include local authorities, housing associations, domestic and commercial.

Job description

  1. Procurement & Stock Manager to join an expanding company.
  2. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate an ability to oversee all aspects of procurement including stock management.
  3. This will be a new role within the company so we would be looking for someone able to help us implement new systems and will be based within our office in Poole.

What will this role entail?

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance you will be responsible for the daily running of the procurement function.

Responsibilities:

  1. Checking prices paid for materials
  2. Negotiating with and influencing suppliers
  3. Identifying areas for improvement to current processes and procedures
  4. Monitor supplier performance, communicating any issues effectively to enable continuous improvement.
  5. Conducting regular stock takes and maintaining accurate records
  6. Provide monthly reports on savings made

Key Skills and Experience required to be considered for this vacancy:

  1. Proven experience gained in a Procurement & Stock Manager role
  2. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  3. A large number of tasks are completed using our specific software, but excellent IT skills are necessary and will include all Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  4. Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  5. Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  6. Attention to detail.
  7. Initiative-taking and flexible work ethic.

Your working hours will be 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday based at their office in Poole.
