About the team you'll be part of
Ofcom's Commercial Team provides valued and effective commercial and procurement support to the organisation. The team has significant commercial influence and plays a key role in ensuring that Ofcom continues to operate efficiently and delivers value for money. As a statutory corporation, Ofcom is bound by public procurement law and adherence to these regulations and guidelines is essential.

The purpose and scope of the role
The Procurement Analyst, reporting to the Head of Commercial, will play a pivotal role within the Commercial Team. Your responsibilities will include providing administrative support, assisting stakeholders undertake low-value procurements, and ensuring compliance with public procurement law. As a key member of the team, you will contribute to achieving the team's overall objectives of ensuring value for money, high levels of compliance and delivering an excellent service to our stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Working with minimal supervision, provide administrative support to the Head of Commercial and Commercial Team.
  • Undertake administrative tasks relating to public procurement and contracting, including publishing notices, taking moderation meeting minutes, and drafting letters and reports.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to undertake low value procurements, advising colleagues of the necessary processes and procedures and ensuring compliance.
  • Liaise with tenderers and suppliers across the full procurement cycle, communicating clearly and professionally.
  • Manage the coordination of specific reporting and data related tasks.
  • Take full ownership of specific tasks and processes, contributing ideas for improvement.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required.

Essential technical knowledge and experience

  • Highly proficient in delivering administrative tasks to a high standard.
  • Highly proficient using Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
  • Strong written, numerical and accuracy skills.
  • Ability to communicate specialist subject matter information clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Ability to handle objections and questions professionally.

Desirable technical knowledge and experience

  • Experience of working within public sector procurement or a keen interest to learn.
  • Experience using BravoSolution/Jaggaer (etendering tool).
  • Experience using Workday (finance system).
