Process Technologist - 12 Month FTC (Maternity Cover)

Location: Rogerstone (Newport)

Working Hours: 8am - 4pm, Monday to Friday with Flexibility required for occasional weekend and night shifts during product launches.

About the Role

The Process Technologist is responsible for managing the transition of concept-approved products into full-scale production. Working with a variety of cuisines, the role ensures customer requirements, product specifications, and food safety standards are met. You'll play a key role in factory trials, pre-production activities, and launches, collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality results. This is 12 month Fixed Term Contract for maternity cover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage factory trials, ensuring technical, safety, and legal compliance
  • Lead pre-production and product launches to ensure smooth transitions to production
  • Oversee customer quality panels, approvals, and quality contracts
  • Collaborate on New Product Development (NPD), Existing Product Development (EPD), and Value Optimisation (VO) initiatives
  • Balance factory work, administrative tasks, and sample preparation

About You

This role is perfect for a food enthusiast with a passion for product development, excellent organisation, and the ability to manage multiple projects.

  • Some exposure to food process or manufacturing is essential - factory background preferred (e.g., roles from "Phoebe" upward)
