Process Development Technologist
Location: Central Belt of Scotland
Salary: £25K-£34K (negotiable)

The Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Development Technologist to join our small but growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about food science and manufacturing to play a key role in optimising our production processes, improving product quality, and supporting new product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Optimisation: Identify, develop, and implement improvements to existing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product consistency and quality.
- New Product Introduction (NPI) Support: Collaborate with the New Product Development (NPD) team to scale up new recipes from kitchen to factory, ensuring smooth and efficient transition into production.
- Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve production issues related to process deviations, raw material variations, and finished product specifications.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of process parameters, experimental trials, and process changes.
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with the Quality team to ensure all processes comply with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, BRC) and company quality specifications.
- Equipment Trials: Assist in the evaluation and commissioning of new processing equipment.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, actively seeking out and suggesting innovative solutions.
Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Previous experience (e.g., 1-3 years) in a process development, technical, or production role within the food manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of food processing principles and equipment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and quality management systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and eager to learn.
