Job summary

Nuffield Health Careers Tiverton HSSU Hub is seeking a Process Technician to join our sterile services team. You will process medical instruments for surgical operations and learn the names and uses of all instruments.

This part-time role offers 19.5 hours per week with a salary of £25,038 per annum pro rata and includes full training, basic computer work, and opportunities to advance within the UK's largest healthcare charity.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sterile services environment is preferred.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Basic computer skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Process Medical instruments for surgical operations.
• Learn the importance of sterile instruments from start to finish.
• Help ensure all instruments are in good working order and learn all their names and uses.
• Regularly check medical equipment for damage and report any faults.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
• Take action to resolve any problems.
• Escalate issues where necessary.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with our policies and procedures.
• Work with a highly skilled team.
• Full training given.

Tiverton HSSU Hub | Sterile Services | Permanent | Part time |

£25,038 per annum pro rata

19.5 hours per week Week 1 Monday & Tuesday 06:00 to 13:00 - Sunday 17:00 to 00:00 Week 2 Monday & Friday 17:00 to 00:00 - Saturday 19:00 to 02:00 All shifts include a 30-minute break (unpaid).

As a Process Technician at our Tiverton HSSU Hub, you’ll bring a basic standard of general education with proven literacy and numeracy skills. You’re organised with good communication skills – and ideally, you’re able to show evidence of sterile services training.

As a Process Technician, you will:

Between 7pm and 7am hours are paid at 30% enhancement rate, and weekends at 20%. Bank Holidays paid as double time if required with time back in lieu
