Job summary

Thames Water Utilities Limited in Camberley is seeking a Process Technician to join our pumping team. You will travel between pumping stations in the Home Counties and perform planned maintenance to keep plant running smoothly.

This frontline role requires a full UK driving licence, a flexible attitude, and the ability to work across multiple sites. We offer a permanent full-time contract, 38 hours per week, and a salary from £29,349 depending on skills and experience.

We have a great opportunity for a Process Technician to join our pumping team in Camberley. Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to travel across multiple pumping stations in the Home Counties area. You do not need a background in the waste or water industry. We would welcome applications from candidates outside of the sector, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas,

This role is an essential front-line role, which the business simply cannot operate without. Every day is different; you will be working in all weather conditions carrying out a range of tasks across multiple sites to ensure the essential functions of our pumping stations operate to maintain our service to our customers and protect the environment. Planned preventative maintenance of equipment to support the operation of the plant.

What you’ll be doing as the Process Technician
  • Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on plant and equipment in compliance with company standards and procedures to improve site resilience.
  • Operating and cleaning plant and equipment to ensure on-site operational and health and safety standards are maintained.
  • Attending reactive jobs following plant and equipment failure.
  • Keeping sites clean and tidy and undertaking safety and security checks.
  • Carrying out daily site checks to ensure compliant operation.

Base Location: Camberley STW, Riverside Way, Watchmoor Park, Camberley, GU15 3YL. Travel across multiple pumping stations will be required.

Working Pattern: 38 Hours per week, Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 15:36pm plus Standby rota payments & Overtime opportunities can increase your earning potential upon completion of essential company training.

Due to the nature of this role you must hold a full UK drivers Licence.

Equipment: All PPE, tools, a company van and a fuel card are provided.

  • Take ownership of responding quickly to faults, being curious to fully understand the problem, and identifying the best solution to resolve it the first time.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to interact with the team.
  • Teamwork – We are one team, and our end goals are the same.
  • Proactive – take the lead on recommendations and improvements around the site and communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety standards.
  • Must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
  • Full UK driving licence.
