Biffa Group in Cannock is hiring a Process Supervisor to lead and supervise operations at the Poplars Anaerobic Digestion plant. This 24/7 site runs on 4 days on/off alternating 12-hour day and night shifts, with emphasis on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement in productivity and sub-product quality.

You will manage resources, monitor biogas and electricity production, drive maintenance planning, record downtime causes, and mentor a multi-shift team while delivering consistent service

Qualificações

• Experience as Process Supervisor or similar responsibilities.
• Experience with people and health and safety management in a unionised multi-shift environment.
• Understanding of the waste industry and relevant laws.
• Proven track record of meeting defined service delivery KPIs.
• Ability to communicate with conviction, plan with precision and collaborate.

Responsabilidades

• Monitor and control all resources (people and equipment) to maximise productivity, plant availability and performance.
• Ensure productivity and availability meet minimum standards for biogas/electricity production and sub-product quality.
• Control inbound/outbound material to minimise downtimes.
• Provide accurate records of operations, settings and stoppages and identify root causes of downtime.
• Support planned maintenance, inspection and cleaning to minimise downtime.
• Analyse KPIs and implement corrective actions for variance.
• Demonstrate strong man-management in a tough, demanding environment.

Help us make a difference as a Process Supervisor based from our Poplars Anaerobic Digestion plant in Cannock.

A quick look at the role.

The Process Supervisor will efficiently organise and supervise the operation of an anaerobic digestion plant, which will be a 24/7 operation (4 days on/off alternating 12 hour day and night 7:00 - 7:00), ensuring health & safety and environmental compliance, whilst showing continuous improvement in productivity, plant availability and the requirements of sub-products produced in accordance with the site licences.

Your core responsibilities.

• Monitoring and controlling all resource within the AD plant in terms of people and equipment, including stock control, maintaining a high level of housekeeping in all areas, to maximise operational productivity, plant availability and plant performance.
• Ensuring productivity and availability exceeds minimum defined standards in terms of biogas/electricity production and quality of the sub products generated during the process (inerts, digestate, and effluents), whilst driving best practice and continuous improvement in cost control and processing operations.
• Controlling the material which flows into and out of the process to ensure downtimes are minimised.
• Providing accurate and detailed records of all plant operations, settings and stoppages and to attribute causes to all unplanned downtime.
• Supporting the engineering functioning in developing a programme of planned preventative maintenance, inspection and cleaning to minimise downtime and provide records of recurrent faulting.
• Analysing and reviewing maintenance activities, cost-control, health & safety and service KPIs, implementing necessary corrective actions in the event of variance,
• Must have good man management skills and be able to stay focussed in a tough and demanding environment.

Our essential requirements:

• Experience as Process Supervisor or position of similar responsibility ideally in a green waste/water treatment process plant or similar
• Experience of people and health and safety management within a unionised and multi-shift environment.
• Understanding of the waste industry and relevant laws.

• Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPI’s
• The ability to communicate with conviction, plan with precision and, most importantly, play well with others.
