Process Operator, Pharmaceutical/ GMP

Location: Stevenage
Type: Permanent
Salary: c£27,000 + 25% shift allowance (c£33,750)
Hours: Rotating shift pattern

  1. Week 1: Mon - Fri 6:00 - 14:00
  2. Week 2: Mon - Thurs 14:00 - 22:00, Fri 14:00 - 20:30
  3. Week 3: Sun - Thurs 22:00 - 6:00

Our client, a growing pharmaceutical/ingredients company, is recruiting one or two Production/Process Operators for their modern facility. The role involves:

  • Working alone or in small teams to undertake production schedules.
  • Recording process jobs on batch manufacturing records.
  • Inputting jobs and material movements into SAGE and other management systems.
  • Possessing team leadership skills, with the ability to deputize as Team Leader during absences.
  • Conducting basic in-process testing (e.g., pH, Brix).
  • Collaborating with packaging, warehouse, and extraction teams for smooth operations.
  • Cleaning equipment and assisting with site maintenance.
  • Participating in or leading deviation investigations.
  • Authoring manufacturing SOPs and maintaining safety standards.
  • Observing health and safety regulations at all times.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a BRC (food or drink) related production environment and/or GMP (training can be provided). Skills include:

  • Experience with IT systems such as SAGE and Microsoft applications.
  • Experience following SOPs and H&S standards.
  • Knowledge in material extraction, evaporation, liquids manufacturing, filling, and packaging.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and on initiative.
