Job summary

EGGER UK is seeking a production operator in Hexham to join the Lamination department. This is a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract based in Hexham, United Kingdom.

You will support board/paper prep, pressing, inspections, banding and warehouse duties while maintaining safe, clean work areas. The role requires flexibility for 12 hour day and night shifts, and you will participate in training across all Lamination functions, with opportunities for career development in an international manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Basic standard of IT skills and competent use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Demonstrates a proactive commitment to safety by identifying hazards, following procedures and minimising risk to people, equipment and environment.
  • Maintains high quality standards by working accurately and addressing errors promptly.
  • Works effectively with colleagues to achieve team objectives and maintain efficient operations.
  • Delivers work to required standards, manages priorities under pressure and deadlines.
  • Able to work 12 hour shifts Days and Nights.

Responsibilities

  • Operate as a member of the team in the Lamination department.
  • Ensure the workplace, equipment, vehicles and machinery are maintained clean and tidy.
  • Undertake training to run every aspect of the lamination department including boards/paper prep, pressing, inspections, banding, fork truck and general warehouse duties.
  • Attend training courses at EGGER UK locations as required.
  • Complete shift reports detailing production and downtime and liaise with the Shift Supervisor and Day Support.
  • Observe and comply with Health and Safety procedures and ensure safety equipment is used.
  • Observe and comply with the Quality Manual and liaise with engineering about production equipment conditions.
  • Provide support for holiday/sickness/training/maintenance cover to maximise production output and efficiency.

This role is a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract
  • Operate as a member of the team in the Lamination department.
  • Ensure that the work place, equipment, vehicles and machinery are maintained in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Undertake a comprehensive training programme to be able to run every aspect of the lamination department, to include boards/paper preparation, pressing, inspections, banding, fork truck and general warehouse duties.
  • Attend any further training courses as required at other EGGER UK locations.
  • Complete shift reports detailing production, downtime, to include any specific data required relevant to shift. Liaise with the Shift Supervisor and Day Support with regard to the operations of the shift.
  • Observe and comply with all safety precautions as detailed in the Health and Safety procedures and to ensure that safety equipment is in good order and used at all times.
  • Ensure that the operation and related tasks are conducted in a safe working manner and that any incidents/ accidents and hazards are duly reported
  • Observe and comply with the Company Quality Systems as detailed in the Quality Manual.
  • Liaise with the shift supervisor and relevant engineering department as to the condition of the production equipment or problems.
  • Provide support for holiday/ sickness/ training/ maintenance cover, to help maximise production output and efficiency when required.
