Overview

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Process Operator on a 3 Month Contract, based in Yorkshire.

Role Summary

The Process Operator will be responsible for monitoring, controlling, and optimizing production processes, ensuring equipment runs safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. The role involves working closely with engineers, technicians, and maintenance teams to maintain high levels of operational performance and product quality.

Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and adjust process equipment in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct routine checks on machinery and control systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Record and analyze process data, reporting deviations or abnormalities to the engineering team.
  • Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving process or equipment issues.
  • Support start-up, shut-down, and changeover activities in line with operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance and engineering staff to schedule repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, safety, and product quality.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation as required.
  • Participate in training programs and support the onboarding of new operators.
Qualifications
  • NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Process Operations, or related discipline.
  • Previous experience as a Process Operator or in a similar role within engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
  • Strong understanding of process control systems, mechanical/electrical equipment, and operational safety.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, process flow diagrams, and engineering instructions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work shifts and respond to operational needs.
