Join Our Client's Team as a Process Operator!

We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Process Operator to join our Client's team at the Wastewater Treatment Works in Wigan. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the wastewater treatment processes run smoothly and effectively, safeguarding the environment and the health of our communities.

Details:

  • Job: Process Operator
  • Client: United Utilities
  • Hours: £16.04 per hour PAYE - Monday to Friday, 7:00-15:00
  • Address: Wastewater Treatment Works and site visits around the area
  • Contract details: 6 months contract, with a possibility to go permanent

What will you do?

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater and odor control equipment and facilities.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain biological, chemical, mechanical, and hydraulic processes at wastewater treatment plants, collection system pump and regulator stations, and associated facilities.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Collect and analyse water samples to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of operational data and report any anomalies or issues.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving operational problems.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols at all times.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and effectiveness.

What will you have?

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in wastewater treatment operations; understanding of wastewater treatment processes and equipment is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
