Job summary

A global medical technology company is seeking a Process Operator in Deeside. In this role, you will manage production lines, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and apply troubleshooting techniques to maintain operations. The ideal candidate should possess a GCSE or vocational qualification and experience in manufacturing, preferably in the medical device sector. This position offers a contract of 6 months with possible extension.

  • Job Title: Process Operator
  • Contract: 6 months - likely extended
  • Location: Deeside
  • Pay: 14.20 p/h
  • Hours: 12 hours per day (6am-6pm)
  • Days: Monday - Thursday

SRG are partnered with a global medical products and technologies company. Our client is focused on solutions for the management of chronic conditions, with leading positions in advanced wound care, ostomy care, continence care, and infusion care.

Our client is seeking a Process Operator to join the team.

About the role:

In this role you will be responsible for the effective running of production lines. You will be required to apply troubleshooting techniques to maintain the smooth running of the production process and uphold the highest quality standards. You will perform changeovers and associated administration tasks. The post holder will complete routine QC/QA procedures and take appropriate resultant actions. Embrace and drive the company core mission, values and priorities.

Role responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day activities, ensuring lines are run in accordance to quality standards
  • Complete packaging activities
  • Strict adherence to all quality standards
  • Demonstrated ability to run production lines
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of processes
  • Apply troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques through CI tools (RCA, 5WHY ETC)
  • Assisting with changeovers and machine set up
  • Develop strong team / shift communications
  • Adherence to company policy and procedure at all times
  • Ensure the escalation protocol is adhered to
  • Complete line sheets and maintain Tier boards
  • Manage shadow boards and Daily TPM Activities
  • Understand and be accountable for line performance data
  • Complete batch records and ensure accuracy of all relevant production documentation
  • Compliance with GMP requirements and uphold these standards
  • Compliance with EHS requirements and uphold these standards
  • Seek and deliver CI opportunities across the site
  • First Piece inspection and line clearance
  • In process checks
  • Material verification and transfer
  • Accurate reconciliation
  • Material management - including Pick parts, Return / Kanban, Kanban transfers
  • Ensure own training compliance is maintained
  • Coaching and mentoring of team members

Skills & Experience:

  • Must be flexible with the ability to adapt to change quickly
  • Must demonstrate a sense of urgency
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and product/process development cycles
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance issues, environmental and safety issues and regulations.
  • Competency in various computer-based software applications (i.e. SAP, MS Office, etc.).
  • Ability to accurately interpret and respond effectively to financial data. (I.e. cost standards, variance reports, etc.)
  • Ability to demonstrate basic technical and mechanical initiatives regarding manufacturing equipment.
  • Fully competent in oral and written communications and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively convey Company policies and procedures.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Educated to GCSE standard or relevant Vocational Qualification preferred
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for technical / analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
  • Experience in a manufacturing operation, preferably in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
