Based at our site in Simonswood, on the border of Merseyside and Lancashire, Puratos are now seeking a Process Operator to join our team.

The contract is permanent and full time , working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. You will be available to work a rotating weekly shift pattern: completing one week on day shift (06:00-15:00) and then one week on the late shift (13:00-22:00) with the need to be flexible in line with business and customer requirements.

The site is commutable from the Liverpool/Southport/Skelmersdale/St Helens/Wigan areas.

Responsibilities

The Process Operator is an expert role in our team and is directly responsible for the safe, efficient and right-first-time manufacturing of our confectionary sauces. The Process Operator works with Food Safety and Health and Safety in mind at all times.

You will follow strict process instructions to prepare each batch allocated to you, following all SOPs and requirements, and seeking support and advice from the Production Shift Manager, QA team and R&D team when required to ensure batches are made right-first-time.

You must have a solid background in food manufacturing with experience of handling raw materials, including allergens, and finished product. You will have knowledge of CCP procedures and understand the significance of compliance. You will have excellent time management skills, a keen eye for detail and be confident using new technology and automation.

Theidealcandidate will have the following skills and experience however full training will be provided:

  • Food Safety Level 2/3
  • Allergen control/awareness training
  • Chemical handling training
  • PPT and/or FLT licence
  • SAP knowledge and competence
  • Knowledge of and interested in Lean manufacturing techniques
  • Knowledge of and interested in food science
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle competing demands and priorities
  • Hard work ethic and a natural team player
