Ashton Recruitment require a number of Process Operatives for our client based in Randalstown.

Position: Process Operatives

Location: Randalstown

Duration: Temporary - Permanent

Hours of work: Monday - Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Friday (early finish): 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Pay Rate: £12.27/hour + bonuses + overtime opportunities

Ireland's largest textile recycling company has been proudly operating for over 20 years and employs over 250 staff. The organisation is dedicated to reducing landfill waste and promoting environmental sustainability by repurposing used clothing and textiles-helping to cut down harmful greenhouse gases like methane, while also providing affordable clothing to people in developing countries.

Duties will include:

  • Manually sorting used clothing and textiles by type, quality, and material (e.g. cotton, wool, synthetic).
  • Separating items for reuse, recycling, or disposal.
  • Assessing the condition of garments (e.g. wearable, damaged, vintage, or designer).
  • Categorising items for different resale markets such as export, charity, or industrial use.
  • Using baling machines to compress clothing into bales for transport.
  • Possibly using conveyor belts, shredders, or weighing scales.
  • Keeping work areas tidy and adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and following company procedures.
  • Packing sorted and graded textiles into bags or containers.
  • Labelling items for shipment or resale based on destination or customer requirements.
  • Assisting with unloading donations or deliveries.
  • Moving stock using trolleys or forklifts (if trained/licensed).
  • Working as part of a team to meet daily processing targets and maintain workflow efficiency.
