Job summary

AB InBev Preston is seeking entry level Packaging Operator roles reporting to the Packaging First Line Manager. You will be part of a multi-skilled team responsible for daily/weekly/monthly activities to help the Packaging Department hit KPI targets for Safety, Quality, Hygiene, Service and Cost.

Successful candidates will work with attention to detail, in a flexible team, from start to finish of packaging operations (raw materials to finished products).

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English required or equivalent.
  • Packaging or Engineering qualification an advantage.
  • Fork Lift Truck License where appropriate (advantage).
  • IT literacy and basic numeracy.

Responsibilities

  • From start to end of Packaging Operations, including raw materials to finished product.
  • Undertake daily / weekly / monthly activities to meet KPI targets for Safety, Quality, Hygiene, Service and Cost.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Health & Environment requirements and quality controls.
  • Work as part of a flexible team with attention to agreed timescales.
  • Attend meetings and maintain documentation as required.

Seniority Level: Entry level

These shift-based roles report to the Packaging First Line Manager (“FLM”). You will be part of a multi-skilled team, responsible to undertake daily / weekly / monthly activities in order for the Packaging Department to meet KPI requirements for Safety, Quality, Hygiene, Service and Cost – behaviours through agreed ways of working.

Consistent execution of routine tasks (daily / weekly / monthly) within agreed ways

of working.

  • Work with attention to detail to agreed timescales.
  • Work as part of a flexible team.
  • From start to end of Packaging Operations, including raw materials.
  • From Bright Beer Tank to final packaged product.

Comply with all Statutory & Legal requirements.

  • Comply with all Safety, Health & Environment requirements.
  • Comply with any appropriate packaging or food hygiene safety regulations as defined by policy or legislation, such as HACCP.
  • Comply with all Product & Process Quality requirements.
  • Comply with all Housekeeping, Cleaning & 5S requirements.
  • Comply with autonomous maintenance routine.
  • Undertake the required quality control check to release products.
  • Operate Packaging Equipment in order to ensure the department delivers finished goods of the right quality, at the right time and at the right cost to the logistics department.
  • Utilising VPO undertake improvement activities to ensure the department meets all of its KPI (Key Performance Indicators) Targets, such as Short Interval Control (SIC) etc.
  • Undertake training and create/update documentation for new skills & tasks within Packaging Department in line with PDP’s. The primary objective being to up-skill those with fewer skills.
  • Undertake any packaging related tasks, as directed by the First Line Manager.
  • Attend Meetings & Briefings as necessary.
  • Comply with all documentation and transactions required to operate and improve performance in the department.
  • Ensure that all internal customer requirements are met.

General Certificate of Secondary Education (“GCSE”) Maths and English, or equivalent.

  • Packaging or Engineering based qualification an advantage.
  • Packaging and or Engineering experience an advantage.
  • For successful candidates all operational training to be able to do the role will be provided.
  • Fork Lift Truck License where appropriate (Keg Palletiser).
  • IT Literacy
  • Effective team player, with the ability to coordinate and communicate within teams.
  • Experience in high efficiency FMCG packaging/engineering environment
  • Be able to demonstrate experience in operating within a quality focused food environment
