Job summary

Renishaw is seeking a Process Improvement Technician in our Manufacturing division. A balanced mix of hands-on engineering and office-based work, in a high precision optical and electro-mechanical environment, interfacing with engineers and production staff to support assembly processes.

You will receive immersive training, be mentored by management, and contribute to technical support, validation, and real-time problem solving in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Four GCSE passes (or equivalent BTEC) grades A-C including 2 STEM subjects.
  • HNC or NVQ3 level qualification (although relevant experience will also be considered).
  • Excellent problem solving and practical skills.
  • Good communication and social skills.
  • Be an engaged, enthusiastic, and motivated individual.

Renishaw are offering an exciting opportunity for a Process Improvement Technician within our Manufacturing division. Our aim is to develop an ambitious, talented, and self-motivated employee into a skilled and highly capable support technician.

A balanced combination of hands‑on engineering and office‑based work, this role offers a varied multi-disciplined opportunity working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The successful applicant will be an integral part of the team, delivering technical support to product assembly processes, interfacing with engineers and production staff, whilst working in a high precision optical and electro‑mechanical environment.

This role provides an excellent insight to how a manufacturing organisation interacts with the entire business, giving a great opportunity to appreciate the importance of this role and its tangible output.

To enable you to get fully integrated into the position, team, and working environment, you will receive formal and immersive training, and be mentored and supported by our management staff. You will contribute to, and develop in areas such as technical support, effective communication, validation, and real life, time‑pressured problem solving.

Key requirements

  • Successful application of structured problem solving and statistical analysis techniques
  • Awareness of lean manufacturing tools and techniques and an understanding of production metrics
  • Understanding of metrology, measurement techniques and calibration
