Job description

Process Improvement Engineer

The Opportunity:

You will join one of Europe's leading PCB manufacturers in the heart of beautiful Devon. If you are either an experienced Process Engineer or an Improvement Engineer, then this could be the perfect role for you. The position would suit somebody who's been a Process Engineer within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment previously, or a Continuous Improvement, Process Improvement, or Process Control Engineer. Your role as Process Engineer will be 50/50 hands-on and report writing, so it is essential that you have great critical and logical thinking and a fantastic approach to problem-solving.

The Role:

As our Process Engineer, you will be monitoring and controlling processes on the shop floor of our Printed Circuit Board factory with the aim of advising on technical matters; ensuring that processes are adequate to produce products that meet specific standards agreed between us and our customers from the defence, aviation, medical, and telecommunication industries. You will attend to process issues as they arise and communicate effectively with Production and Quality personnel to ensure that product quality is maintained to the highest standard. The successful candidate will be able to research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in an accurate and timely manner. On top of this, it will be your priority to develop new techniques to increase the capability of the company; whether by improving efficiency, yield, or reducing waste, you will be continuously utilising your engineering skills to provide an increasingly more complex product.

What you will bring to the Team:

  1. Preferably 2+ years of experience in engineering, or a Bachelor's degree in science/engineering.
  2. Logical thinking and a good application of the scientific method.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent data and statistical analysis skills.
  5. Ability to maintain a high level of detail.
  6. Good understanding of technical documentation.

Benefits:

  • Quarterly Company bonus scheme - can be up to 12% of your salary!
  • Contributory pension
  • Death in service insurance
