Process Excellence Technician

PEX Technician


The Process Excellence Technician will lead activities focused on improving Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity in manufacturing processes and supporting areas.


Responsibilities:
  • Collect, track, control, analyze, review, and report data daily on process cycle time and downtime.
  • Support data collection, review, analyze, and report on team performance, providing feedback to internal customers.
  • Support and lead problem-solving sessions and initiatives to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost.
  • Lead initiatives on shop floor organization and standard work implementation (5S).
  • Assist in and promote PEX awareness by training on PEX tools and fostering a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Collaborate with factory, regional, and global support teams to enhance Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost.
  • Assist with the launch of new products (NPI) into the factory.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:
  • Effective communication of information to local, regional, and global teams.
  • Flexibility to adapt to change, shift schedules, working hours, and departmental needs on short notice.
  • Organize and manage time efficiently based on daily objectives.
  • Proficiency in computer use.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Physical ability to work on-site on the factory floor with technicians and production staff.
  • Ability to see and hear alarms, timers, and follow verbal instructions.
  • Wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during tasks.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Tolerance to environments involving chemicals and materials within OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Education, Training, and Skills Required:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, Value Stream Mapping) or Data Analytics.
  • Understanding of Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost principles in manufacturing.
  • Basic problem-solving skills with ability to identify root causes and suggest solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and presentation.
  • Ability to influence, motivate, and build consensus at the factory level.
  • Experience leading or participating in improvement projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to create diagrams, graphs, charts, tables, and visual work instructions.
