This role involves delivering defined engineering support over a 12-month period, focusing on compliance with UK EHS and Process Safety standards. Job description

We are seeking professional process engineering services to deliver defined engineering support to our client at a major petrochemical facility in Teesside. Delivery of Scope of Works is required within a 12-month period, operating outside IR35, and is suitable for a limited company offering process engineering services within the energy or chemical sectors.


Scope of Work:
  • Providing technical consultancy to support compliant and efficient plant operations in alignment with UK EHS and Process Safety standards
  • Delivering analysis and interpretation of plant performance data to identify opportunities for optimisation
  • Supplying engineering inputs including mass and energy balances, process datasheets, and P&IDs
  • Contributing to feasibility assessments and process design for capital projects
  • Recommending improvements to energy efficiency, sustainability, and throughput performance
  • Participating in technical discussions and providing guidance aligned with industry best practice

Process engineering service deliverables:
  • Analytical reports based on plant data, with actionable insights
  • Process documentation and modelling outputs
  • Technical input to support project scoping and design
  • Recommendations for performance and safety improvements
  • Advisory support on process operations and system optimisation

Competencies and capabilities:
  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • Demonstrable ability in process engineering within petrochemical, oil & gas, or chemical sectors
  • Prior engagement on COMAH-regulated or other high-hazard industrial sites
  • Proficiency using Aspen HYSYS, ABB PEL, or equivalent engineering tools
  • Ability to operate independently and deliver clearly defined work packages
