Process Engineer - Place Based Thinking

Who are we?

Within the @one Alliance, we are a collaborative organization comprising seven partner companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO) and our extended supply chain. We deliver over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment program.

As we prepare for AMP8, our most ambitious Asset Management Period yet, we will undertake a larger and more innovative portfolio of projects, focusing on nature-based solutions such as wetlands and urban drainage schemes.

What will you be doing as our new Process Engineer?

As a Process Engineer in our Place Based Thinking team, you will collaborate with the project design team to develop process solutions aligned with the principles of optimized plant performance, standard designs, and @one engineering standards.

Key responsibilities:

1. Design wastewater solutions and sewerage systems that meet Anglian Water’s goals for customer service, environmental protection, and efficiency. Deliverables include:
2. Technical schedules and data sheets
3. Hydraulic, pump, mass balance, RICS calculations, etc.
4. Specifications for engineering subcontracts
5. Work closely with the supply chain and analyze technical bids
6. Oversee process calculations, hydraulics, unit processes, pump and capacity calculations, and process equipment bids
7. Communicate effectively across relevant levels to ensure technical excellence
8. Identify and escalate issues impacting time, cost, or quality
9. Support health and safety standards, ensuring designs comply with CDM Regulations and industry standards
10. Coordinate with other engineering teams to ensure smooth interdisciplinary interfaces and share best practices

Skills, experience, and behaviors required:

You should have a degree in wastewater process science or engineering and experience in process engineering for large-scale wastewater projects. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with excellent IT proficiency to deliver high-quality process facilities consistently.
