Job summary

Catalent in Swindon, UK is seeking a Senior technologist to lead product transfers and process development, ensuring successful product introduction and GMP compliance on site.

You will optimize manufacturing processes, provide technical expertise, and manage priorities to support business objectives while maintaining a strong focus on safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, product development, or life sciences.
• Knowledge of oral solid dosage (OSD) formulation and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of GMP environments and scale-up, technology transfer.

Responsibilities

• Lead product transfers, process development, and validation for successful product introduction.
• Develop process specifications, optimise manufacturing processes, and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide technical expertise to resolve process issues and improve operations.
• Ensure GMP, regulatory and quality compliance for equipment, processes and docs.
• Manage project priorities and resources to meet objectives and timelines.
• Maintain safety and regulatory compliance focus, with risk assessment.
• Train manufacturing teams on new processes and ensure training compliance.
• Act as a key client contact, providing updates, reports, and stakeholder communication.

Education

Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or a related discipline

Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, product development, or life sciences

Knowledge of oral solid dosage (OSD) formulation and manufacturing processes

Understanding of GMP environments and scale-up, technology transfer

Job description

We have an opportunity for a Senior technologist to join our team and lead critical product transfers and process development activities. In this role, you will ensure successful product introduction, optimize manufacturing processes, and maintain compliance with GMP and regulatory standards. You will provide technical expertise, manage priorities, and support operational excellence. This is a chance to make a real impact on product quality and patient safety while working in a collaborative environment.

Shift: Monday - Friday 37.5 per week.

Location: Swindon, UK

The Role

• Lead product transfers, process development, and validation activities to ensure successful product introduction.
• Develop process specifications, optimize manufacturing processes, and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide technical expertise to resolve process issues and improve operational performance.
• Ensure equipment, processes, and documentation meet Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), regulatory, and quality standards.
• Manage project priorities and resources to achieve business objectives and timelines.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
• Train and support manufacturing teams on new processes and ensure training compliance.
• Act as a key client contact, providing technical updates, reports, and stakeholder communication.

The Candidate

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing, product development, or life sciences.
• Knowledge of oral solid dosage (OSD) formulation and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of process scale-up, technology transfer, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environments.

Preferred Skills & Background

• Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) and statistical analysis is desirable.
• Experience in leading projects.
