Job summary

Rullion is seeking a Process Engineer to advance our manufacturing capabilities in high-spec Steam Turbine and Naval products in Rugby. Reporting to the Production Leader, you will develop manufacturing methods, write SOPs, and drive improvements across the shop floor to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

The role requires a Mechanical or Aerospace engineering degree, hands-on experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, process flow, MSA and First Article Inspection, and knowledge of Lean

Qualifications

  • UK citizenship is essential; UK passport holder only.
  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar) or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, MSA, and First Article Inspection
  • Strong knowledge of factory capabilities, planning, lead times and cost drivers
  • Experience with Steam Turbine manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Develop and approve manufacturing methods, including SOPs, across all process steps
  • Support the Naval Project with writing MITPs and supporting on technical issues, both pre-shop and operational
  • Provide technical direction for the revalidation and manufacture of Steam Turbine components.
  • Strengthen coordination between shop floor and support functions (tendering, planning, procurement, engineering, etc.)
  • Investigate and implement advanced manufacturing technologies
  • Drive process improvement through Lean initiatives and collaboration with PQE & CI teams
  • Lookahead for manufacturing development / improvements / Shop Layouts

Job description

We're looking for a Process Engineer to play a key role in advancing our manufacturing capabilities, particularly within high-spec Steam Turbine and Naval products. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how complex components are produced, improve processes, and collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Reporting to the Production Leader, you'll be at the heart of operations - driving improvements, solving technical challenges, and helping bridge the gap between engineering and production.

Location: Rugby

Salary: Up to £47,000 DOE

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and approve manufacturing methods, including SOPs, across all process steps
  • Support the Naval Project with writing MITPs and supporting on technical issues, both pre-shop and operational
  • Provide technical direction for the revalidation and manufacture of Steam Turbine components.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience with Steam Turbine manufacturing
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies

This work is undertaken with UK Defence customers which will require any individual applying for the role to hold or be capable of getting SC Level clearance as a UK Passport Holder. Applicants not cleared will not be accepted into the business until this clearance is provided. Dual passport holders are acceptable if the second country is approved by the vetting authority
