We are seeking a skilled and innovative Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the development and optimization of plastic extrusion manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency gains.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, focusing on extrusion machinery and processes, and implementation of effective solutions.
- Leads and participates in Kaizen activity.
- Track cost savings activities to reduce costs.
- Attends/participates in a variety of meetings looking at customer complaints, process improvements, and lean initiatives.
- Develops, implements, and responds to corrective actions.
- Initiate and implement Engineering Change Requests.
- Responsible for following all ISO quality systems and procedures.
- Supports Intek Plastics, Inc. policies and procedures and conducts departmental and Company activities in accordance with these policies.
- Every employee is expected to support the INTEK Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with our Quality System Manual and Documented Procedures.
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
- 2 – 3 years Manufacturing Engineering experience desired.
- SolidWorks software experience a plus.
- Extrusion and/or plastics processing experience desired.
Skills
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills to coordinate workflow with other projects.
- Proven problem-solving ability.
- Strong collaborator and ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have demonstrated ability to be hands-on, results-oriented individual.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift (weekly) up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist and carry tools or materials over the course of 8 –10 hour shift; while supporting 24-hour/5-day per week plant operations.
- Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
