Job Description

Reporting to the Process Manager in the Aberdeen office, this role plays a critical part in delivering process optimisation services globally for both onshore and offshore applications. You will be responsible for process engineering activities for third-party customers and internal NOV Process Systems global offices.

You will support tendering and executing various process design studies and process system optimisation projects. This role is technology-focused, requiring experience working at the component level with a good understanding of chemistry and fluid dynamics in both theory and practice. Key skills include attention to detail, technical accuracy, strong communication skills (spoken and written), and effective teamwork.

Effective communication with clients at all levels is essential, along with preparing technical and commercial tenders. You may also conduct onsite process engineering, troubleshooting, and optimisation projects. A keen eye for detail, proactive delivery focus, and understanding of the commercial implications of engineering decisions are crucial for success. You should be eager to take on new challenges, develop your skills, and expand your knowledge through diverse projects.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Support process optimisation and design projects with proposals and engineering teams.
  2. Participate in bid clarification meetings, technical discussions, project kick-offs, and provide process input to ensure client satisfaction.
  3. Present to clients and industry professionals, supporting business development and sales teams.
  4. Perform simulation studies and develop heat and mass balance sheets.
  5. Develop PFDs and P&IDs to meet process requirements.
  6. Calculate and size process equipment (pressure vessels, separators, filters, pumps, eductors, etc.).
  7. Perform hydraulic calculations and line sizing for fluid and slurry pipelines.
  8. Select and size control and manual valves as per process needs.
  9. Prepare process datasheets for equipment and instrumentation, including PSV calculations.
  10. Create and develop proposal and inquiry documents, detail design, and specifications for quotations, purchase, and manufacturing.
  11. Evaluate vendor proposals and respond to bid clarifications.
  12. Participate in interdisciplinary checks and reviews.
  13. Support the deployment and development of the NOV Produced Water Portfolio.
  14. Assist with Brownfield services, working with CFD engineers, field technicians, and chemists.
  15. Provide site support during start-up, commissioning, or optimisation, including travel as needed.
  16. Develop process engineering deliverables for tendering produced water separation systems for Greenfield and Brownfield projects.
  17. Familiarity with NACE and NORSK standards.
  18. Travel occasionally as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Process or Chemical Engineering or related field.
Experience
  • Knowledge of the oil and gas industry.
  • Hands-on experience in site-based operations within the industry.
Skills, Training, or Special Knowledge
  • Exceptional communication skills, especially in creating high-quality engineering reports and deliverables.
  • Understanding of engineering documents and drawings.
