Role: Process Development Engineer
Location: Bristol
Contract Duration: 12-Month Contract
Pay: Up to £47h DOE (Outside IR35)
We're looking for a Process Development Engineer to lead the development of a new adhesive bonding process for battery pack assemblies. This will focus on adhesive selection, equipment trials, and full process integration into manufacturing.
Responsibilities:

  • Outline performance and adhesive requirements in collaboration with engineering.
  • Identify, evaluate, and trial adhesives through lab-based testing.
  • Specify and trial dispensing equipment suitable for production use.
  • Develop and document the adhesive bonding process.
  • Integrate the process into manufacturing with appropriate tooling and controls.
  • Create and deliver technical reports, specifications, and training materials.
  • Support risk mitigation through PFMEA and process validation activities.


Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in adhesive bonding process development.
  • Knowledge of adhesive types, surface preparation, and application methods.
  • Familiarity with industrial dispensing equipment and process trials.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with design, quality, and production teams.
  • Understanding of PFMEA and process validation best practices.
