As a Process Development Chemist, you will bridge R&D and production, focusing on scaling formulations, ensuring manufacturing feasibility, and driving process improvements. Collaborate closely with R&D, QA, and production teams to ensure smooth product transitions and enhance efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scale-Up and Production Transfer: Work with R&D to assess formulation scalability, lead pilot runs, and optimize production processes.
  • R&D Collaboration: Provide technical input during product development, conduct trials, and propose solutions for process compatibility and sustainability.
  • Process Optimisation: Improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and implement lean practices.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure formulations and processes meet regulatory standards and maintain documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyse performance, implement process enhancements, and track KPIs for cost reduction.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in process development, scale-up, and manufacturing of chemical or liquid-based products, preferably in FMCG.
  • Understanding of formulation chemistry, process transfer, and scale-up methodologies.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools (e.g., Six Sigma) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of packaging line optimisation is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis, experimental design, etc.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to liaise between R&D, production, and operations.
  • Attention to detail in documentation and experimental processes.
  • Adaptable mindset to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
