Job Description:

What you will be doing

As a Process Control Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Remote monitoring and control of water treatment processes via SCADA, including abstraction, filtration, ozonation, and disinfection.
  • Fault finding and intervention to maintain treatment processes and customer supply.
  • Responding to emergencies such as process failures or power outages, following established procedures to escalate and stabilize issues.
  • Conducting water quality sampling and testing according to regulatory requirements.
  • Completing operational documentation, including shift logs, and adhering to operational standards.
  • Taking responsibility for your own health and safety and that of others on site, highlighting safety observations and acting to ensure safety.
  • Contributing to risk assessments and safety procedures, especially given the site’s regulation under COMAH.
  • Liaising with departments like Water Quality, Maintenance, and Strategic Control to resolve issues and meet PRO values.
  • Maintaining and updating technical knowledge and training.

What you should bring to the role

  • Hands-on, practical skills with excellent attention to detail and troubleshooting abilities.
  • The ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift independently and cover shifts as required.
  • Basic literacy, numeracy, and computer skills for email and SCADA operation.
  • LTO qualification is desirable.
  • A driving license is desirable but not essential.
