Job description

Service Care Solutions are the leading recruitment agency for the Probation service nationwide. We are currently recruiting for a Probation Service Officer in Bristol - Immediate Starts Available subject to security clearance!

Location:

Ipswich

Hours:

18 hours per week

Duration:

50 weeks ongoing

Pay Rate:

£20 – £21.58 (DoE)

Probation Service Officer Duties:
  1. To undertake the full range of offender management tasks with offenders assessed as low or medium risk of harm and to support the Probation Officer grade in high risk cases.
  2. To use computer-based systems to produce, update and maintain records and other documentation within agreed timescales. Ensure effective referrals to services and facilities and communicate with offender management staff, interventions staff, service providers and external agencies to review progress and associated risks.
  3. To undertake prison, home or alternate location visits as required in accordance with service procedures and policies.
  4. To work within the aims and values of NPS and NOMS.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. A relevant degree or professional qualification in probation, social work, criminology, or a related field.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  4. Understanding of the criminal justice system and rehabilitation principles.
  5. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
