Job summary

Service Care seeks experienced Probation Officers to manage complex caseloads across the PDU in Peterborough. Agency cover supports substantive recruitment while permanent staff are absent. This is an opportunity to contribute to the justice system and work in a busy team.

Ideal candidates hold a Community Justice degree with MAPPA experience and Parole Report writing skills, plus proficiency with NDelius and OASys. Flexibility to adapt to changing duties is essential.

Qualifications

Probation Officer LOCATION: Peterborough HOURS: 37 hours per week (Standard full-time unless specified otherwise) PAY RATE: £30.36 limited per hour (Umbrella pay rate)

We are seeking experienced Probation Officers to manage complex and chaotic caseloads across the PDU. Agency cover is required to support substantive recruitment while permanent staff are absent on long-term sickness and maternity leave. Depending on the role, work may include:

• Supervise a caseload of complex, high-risk cases
• Prepare and write Parole Reports
• Supervise MAPPA cases and attend relevant panel meetings
• Support the delivery of OMiC (Offender Management in Custody)
• Complete and maintain accurate OASys assessments
• Implement the new Sentencing Act requirements

Essential Requirements

• Possession of a recognised Probation Qualification Framework Graduate Diploma/Honours Degree in Community Justice (or equivalent recognised qualification).
• Proven experience managing complex caseloads, including MAPPA cases.
• Experience writing Parole Reports.
• Proficient working knowledge of probation service computer-based systems, including NDelius and OASys.
• Up-to-date with relevant legislation, including the new Sentencing Act, and evidence-based practice.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
