Job Title: Probate Fee Earner
Salary: Up to £50,000
Location: Bakewell
Hours: Part time or full time with opportunity for flexibility on start and finish times


About the Role and Firm:
CRA Consulting are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a valued client - a respected and growing private client-focused law firm - who are seeking an experienced Probate Fee Earner to join their expanding team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit, professional environment where client care is at the forefront. You will take on a varied and rewarding caseload of probate and estate administration matters while also supporting the wider private client team. The firm offers a warm, collaborative working culture and encourages flexibility, progression, and autonomy.

The role will include but is not limited to:

  • Managing a caseload of probate and estate administration matters from initial instruction to conclusion
  • Preparing applications for Grants of Probate/Letters of Administration
  • Liaising with executors, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and HMRC
  • Advising on inheritance tax issues and preparing relevant forms
  • Distributing estate assets and preparing estate accounts
  • Supporting more complex private client matters alongside senior colleagues
  • Assisting with mentoring and supporting junior team members where appropriate
  • Contributing to business development efforts to help grow the department's client base


About You:

  • Proven experience handling probate and estate administration files independently
  • Strong understanding of inheritance tax, trusts, and the administration of estates
  • Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive, or experienced non-qualified probate fee earner
  • STEP qualification or working towards STEP (desirable but not essential)
  • Excellent client care and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised with good attention to detail
  • A collaborative team player with a positive and professional attitude
