Water Recycling Services are looking for a Proactive Pumping Station Manager to join our Regional Asset Health team within Water Recycling. Reporting to the Regional Asset Health Manager, you will be directly responsible for the Proactive Maintenance of our Pumping Station Assets.

You will provide day to day management and lead a team of engineers proactively maintaining circa 3500 sewage pumping stations, providing both technical and managerial support and supervision to the team. You will be delivering timely planned proactive maintenance at optimal cost, whilst complying with all relevant statutory requirements and company policies. Additionally, you will deliver the business plan targets against our Performance Commitments, aligning your team to other programmes and initiatives across the business.

This role is pivotal to our goal of achieving outstanding environmental protection and delivering excellent customer service across Water Recycling by collaborating with your catchment colleagues, dealing effectively with customer issues and other external organisations.

What will you be doing?

Some key duties will include:

  • Manage direct reports and team members, ensuring everyone has clear objectives and understands how they contribute to the success of our organisation.
  • Ensure high levels of accountability, holding teams to account to deliver against our business objectives, focusing output on the impact of our colleagues, customers, communities and the environment.
  • Critically review asset history and job data to enhance infrastructure performance, service and efficiency.
  • Develop employees by active coaching in the workplace to ensure compliance with safety, service and quality standards at optimum cost.
  • Working collaboratively with other operational water recycling teams and departments to ensure optimum asset performance.

What does it take to be a Proactive Pumping Station Manager?

  • Demonstrable experience of having successfully led/managed specialist teams.
  • Broad understanding of regulatory framework applicable to Water Recycling.
  • Working knowledge of the Water Industry.
  • Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen.
  • Health and safety qualification, IOSH level desirable.
  • Ability to assess risks and make significant operational decisions with incomplete information.
  • ICT Literate in various programmes and adaptable to new systems.
